Demos

The following is a list of demonstrations, using CRiSP, created with the "fcterm" terminal emulator. (See tools for how to obtain this free software).

Downloading

This allows you to download new and old versions of CRiSP. Some of these versions are older versions for customers on maintenance. If you are trying CRiSP for the first time, please download the latest release available.

The software available here is provided on an as is basis. Please contact one of the sales outlets or Crisp.Editor@gmail.com if you would like to know more about the options for purchase, support and resolving any issues.

If you want to try out one of these versions of CRiSP, but have CRiSP already installed then the best option is to install the software into an alternate directory. You can copy your existing configuration over by copying $HOME/.Crisp (for Unix) or install\config for Windows to an alternate directory and setting the CRCONFIG environment variable to point to this directory before invoking this test release.

This will give you maximum flexibility in switching between the older and newer versions of software.

NOTE: The files are provided in various formats - via http and ftp. If you have issues, e.g. due to firewall blocking the file type, then select an alternate download. The files are typically executables, but you have the option of a tarball or self-extracting shell-archive. For shell-archive, you can run "sh <filename>" or make the downloaded script executable and run it. The shell archive has a small self-extraction load at the top of the script, but the remainder is binary data.

	$ chmod 755 crisp-linux-x86_64-b6135.exe
	$ ./crisp-linux-x86_64-b6135.exe

The files are self-installing compressed-tar files. You will be asked to select where to install the software.

Note that the Unix binaries will perform a checksum test of the file - so you may see a delay at first as it scans the binary to ensure no corruptions occurred when downloading the files.

Below is a link to fcterm which is a color xterm replacement which can be used on Linux X-Windows to run the cr binary. It has a lot more features than standard xterms including multi-terminal support.

Dictionaries

These files are normally included in the complete releases of CRiSP. If you download from this site then the distributions will only contain American and British dictionaries. Download any of these to update your system.

Each file will need to be stored in the dict/ directory. These files are GZIPed binary files, so when you have downloaded them, you will need to unzip them before installing the LANGUAGE.dic file.

You may need to use your browsers Save as.. button to avoid the browser attempting to display these files (they will display as rubbish if you do not).
